6/6/2011 VC-250 Hi There. Just wanted to say that I bought the VC-250 recently and I love it. Shipping was very fast and I feel like the camera is money well spent. I've captured 2 potential accidents with it so far. Thankfully they were potential, but not actual accidents since I was able to avoid it.I have been showing it to my friends and I will be sure to point them your way if they are interested. 5/24/2011 VC-250 (Bought 2 additional Cams after testing the first) I work at a detention facility. I purchased the VC-250 Dash Cam for use in one of our transport vehicles. It is compact. It is easy to install and use. I had one question for tech support regarding setting FPS and was responded to very quickly. It has one camera that records the road and one camera that records the interior of the van. It records your position using GPS so you can follow the trip on a map when you play back the video. It starts recording automatically when you turn on the vehicle and stops when you turn it off. I purchased a 16gb microSDHC card and set FPS to 10. We get about 37 hours of recorded video before it starts overwriting previous trips. We are so happy with this system that I just purchased two additional systems for other vehicles. Pamela K

03/03/2011 VC-100 Purchased the VC-100 Dash Cam in the hopes that it would work as needed, because other lesser products did not. My surprise was not only does it work as expected but exceeds my expectations as well as needs, Firstly, understand this device is utilizing a higher quality camera, and operating it's own OS, At a resolution of 720 x 480 you can read license plates of other vehicles as they zoom in and out of range. This is because the image sensor is a Sony CCD and the OS is Linux, which is extremely stable and self correcting. As soon as power is supplied, the device will start recording. If you wish to stop it for any reason , flipping a single lever 90 degree will pause the recording. The claims on the ads from Video Co-Pilot are no exaggeration. The software to run the system is included in a compact flash card of 8GB capacity, and as I had needed a "Re-Record over files" type of operation I tested it over a 30 hour period where I never turned it off. As advertised, it records over the oldest files first, which allowed a storage of the the last 10.5 hours of Video. I haven't tested a larger capacity card yet.
Because I have always had a mistrust of suction cup mounts, I was a bit concerned with the window mount supplied so naturally i used a back-up of Nylon tie straps that would keep the unit from plunging to it's death in the event of a catastrophic decrease in holding strength, but so far my investment has remained in place on the window, saving me an increase in stress. Slick little mount really. Place against the cleaned glass, twist 90 degrees, and slide the camera in place. Bingo.
My only concern was the software which only runs on Windows, naturally I use a Mac. But I did have a Windows box that i use for minimum projects, and as i understand it, the newer Macs can run Windows as well, so this is probably of no concern. It takes a while to learn the software tricks, but then again, I am 64 years old and considered a bit out of it by my children, although my engineering background is still useful. The supplied system comes with a handy little card reader that plugs into a USB slot, and away you go. The instructions are clear and concise, which cannot be said for the Chinese interpreted crap that is available from other Companys. All things concerned, this camera is a great product. well worth the money, and not all that expensive. Even records sound with a supplied plug in Mic, but I tend to say things i would rather not record when driving( Who Doesn't) and haven't tested that yet.. John D
